How To Recognize Not Every Hat Fits

Not every business owner is meant to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is scary for many different reasons. Quality of life, fear, money, the economy. There is an endless list of reasons why not to become an entrepreneur. If you have a burning passion to make a difference, however, the fears won’t stop you from getting started.

Understanding all the different pieces of entrepreneurship is essential to helping you better understand what pieces you shouldn’t be doing yourself, or where you may need more support. Just because the vision belongs to you, doesn’t mean all the tasks should.

But I don’t have any money!

Hiring another entrepreneur and teaching them the way you want something done is perhaps the best and the most difficult solution. This solution is one that is highly resisted by many solopreneurs and entrepreneurs, especially when just starting out.

You have to really ask yourself when looking over all the tasks you have-do you really need to be the person performing them? Tasks like bookkeeping that can really make or break your business should be performed by a professional. The initial marketing strategy, content strategy, and analytics should also be guided by a professional.

Why should I have to hire anyone?

Being realistic is one of the difficult tasks–we feel we can do it all. You can do A LOT- but if you try to take on everything you will lose the focus you need to drive the deeper reason you are in business. Burnout is common, and you don’t even realize it’s happening until it actually happens.

Your time is your most valuable asset

It takes a lot of time to learn how to do everything the right way. Making mistakes cost you the time that could be used to grow your business, and bringing in a professional to create the strategies, means you can save time learning the wrong ways from Google, there is just too much content out there for you to practice with. It’s not all going to be right, and you will get frustrated and tired long before you come up with a plan that works.

Remember, it takes a LOT more time to make money if there is no plan in place. If your business depends on trial and error, it will take a long time to get ahead.
